DMAAR Donates $50,000 to Food Bank of Iowa

December 2, 2025

The Des Moines Area Association of REALTORS® (DMAAR) is proud to announce a $50,000 donation to the Food Bank of Iowa, reinforcing the association’s ongoing commitment to supporting the communities its members serve.

Food insecurity remains a significant challenge across Iowa. The Food Bank of Iowa continues to face elevated demand as more individuals and families rely on food assistance to meet basic needs.

In many communities, local pantries are serving record numbers, stretching resources and making large-scale support more critical than ever. DMAAR’s donation will help the Food Bank of Iowa distribute thousands of meals, expand its outreach, and stabilize essential services throughout Central Iowa.

“REALTORS® are deeply connected to the neighborhoods where we live and work,” said Eric Webster, president of DMAAR. “Strong communities start with meeting basic needs. When families are fed and supported, neighborhoods thrive, and that stability strengthens our schools, our workforce, and our real estate markets. We’re honored to support the Food Bank of Iowa in the vital work they do every day.”

By investing in hunger relief, DMAAR is also investing in the long-term health and vibrancy of the region. Access to food security plays a foundational role in community well-being, which directly influences housing stability, economic growth, and quality of life; all key elements of a strong real estate environment.

“This donation reflects DMAAR’s broader dedication to service, volunteerism, and community investment throughout Central Iowa,” said Cindy Warren, CEO of DMAAR. “Our nearly 3,000 REALTOR® members are champions in their communities and we strive to be the same.”
